Over 175 years ago, a group of Spanish artisans in Madrid came together to form what we know today as the design house of Loewe. Led by Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German craftsman, the brand began selling luxe leather goods that quickly gained an impressive following — being granted the title of “Supplier to the Royal Court” by King Alfonso XIII in 1905. This honor pretty much gave the brand the momentum it needed to fully take off.
As the brand grew, they expanded beyond luxury leather goods and added designer clothing, accessories, footwear and even fragrance to their portfolio before its majority stake was acquired by the LVMH Group who also owns Louis Vuitton, Dior, Fendi, Givenchy, Marc Jacobs — you get the idea.

Today, Loewe is led by creative director JW Anderson who joined the brand in 2013. He previously founded his own label, J.W. Anderson five years prior and was known most for his androgynous designs and styles.
