After opening our firstpermanent store in SoHo, and a successful holiday pop-up in our hometown of SF, we’re excited to announce the next stop on our cross-country retail itinerary: Vegas, baby! From now through April 15th, find us inThe Forum Shops at Caesars Palace where you can shop, consign and meet with our experts in person. We think it’s worth a visit on its own, but since you might as well make a trip out of it, we put together a guide to some of our favorite Sin City spots.
Road-Trip: Seven Magic Mountains
Whether you’re taking the classic way into town and road-tripping from LA or you just want to get off the strip and into the surrounding desert, a stop at this nearby art installation is a must-see. Ugo Rondinone’sSeven Magic Mountains comprises seven towers of brightly hued boulders rising out of the desertscape that offer “a creative critique of the simulacra of destinations like Las Vegas.” Another limited engagement, the exhibition will only be open until May of this year.
Sightsee: The Neon Museum, Las Vegas
For a more classic neon experience, visitThe Neon Museum Las Vegas, a lovingly collected archive of some of the city’s iconic signs, now in retirement. A docent-led stroll through the outdoor museum’s collection brings to life the glitz, glamor and distinctively Vegas art form of neon, as well as some Sin City history. Book in advance since a guided tour is necessary.
Stay & Swim: SLS Las Vegas
TheSLS Las Vegas, a majorly revamped version of the Strip’s classic Sahara, boasts Philippe Starck-designed rooms, restaurants including Umami Burger and Bazaar Meat (by James Beard award winner José Andrés) and a speakeasy-inspired lounge. The Foxtail Pool features a chic bar and some of Vegas’ most inviting cabanas, perfect for kicking back during the day.
Drink: Velveteen Rabbit
For a refreshingly un-bottle service vibe, head to thiswomen-owned spot in 18b, the Las Vegas Arts District. The cozy enclave features seasonal craft cocktails, specialty beers and local art, and on the current winter menu you’ll find tempting tipples like the Paper Doll, a bourbon/nonino/house blood orange liqueur/serrano tincture blend. Look out for their spring menu launching the first week of March.
Relax: Bathhouse Spa
Located inThe Delano, this spare space with minimal stone walls is a much-needed respite from the bright lights of the strip and the ‘ding, ding, ding!’ of casinos. Wind down after nights out in the redwood sauna or eucalyptus steam room and choose from an extensive menu of services that incorporate local, desert-sourced ingredients from cacti to wildflowers.
Not everything that happens in Vegas stays in Vegas – pop-up open now through April 15th only at The Forum Shops at Caesars Palace.
