How the Realreal Team Does Holiday Party Style

Words by Jody Hume | 12.22.16
For most, the office holiday party is a once-a-year opportunity to shed buttoned-up workwear and show off personal style, often in the form of a flashy sequined outfit never to be seen again. But at The RealReal, we like doing things a little differently. Perhaps not surprisingly, #RealRealScores dominate our wardrobes, and our favorite designer finds are always welcome at the office.  Forsaking traditional LBDs in favor of something a little more unique, many of The RealReal ladies have become experts at making their versatile investment pieces work year-round — at work, on the weekend and for festive fetes. Read on to see what we wore to our holiday party and get inspired for your next soiree.

Molly Nelson, Sales Development Manager

“For this year’s party, I decided to recycle pieces I currently own and spruce everything up with festive earrings and fun braided hair. Luckily, I tend to buy lots of dresses that can easily be dressed up for parties or dressed down for work.  I chose an A.L.C. midi dress that I purchased this fall from The RealReal.  The lavender color is a bit unexpected during the holidays, but plays so well with a bright red lip!  I finished the outfit with classic grey Manolo Blahnik BB pumps and a Balenciaga Moto clutch (also #RealRealScores)!”

Sasha Skoda, Women’s Category Director

realstyle_582_3“I bought this Proenza Schouler dress from The RealReal and it has been my favorite holiday dress this year. I wore it not only to our team holiday party, but also to fall weddings, as well as our NYC Pop-Up Shop opening party. It’s such a statement piece that gets a ton of attention each time I wear it, and the fit and craftsmanship is really stunning in person.”

Lauren Zukoski, Client Account Manager

“This outfit is head-to-toe from The RealReal.  I love mixing textures so I went with this silky 10 Crosby Derek Lam satin top, a Céline clutch with ponyhair paneling and Manolo Blahniks with lace accents.  I always wear neutrals, so I like to go with colorful accessories and handbags to punch things up. I scored this Rosetta Getty skirt earlier this year, and it has since become a year-round staple in my closet.”

“I’m loving menswear-inspired pieces right now, but particularly for a holiday party where they feel a little more unexpected,” says Sahi Levesque. “These pinstripe pants from Protagonist are the perfect silhouette — high-waisted, wide-leg and with just a touch of pleating at the front. And the best part: I can still wear them long after the holiday season is over.”
“I’ve had this dress in my closet for years, but it feels very current season Gucci to me, so I decided to break it back out,” says Bradshaw. “I’m wearing it with velvet Manolo Blahniks that were a #RealRealScore — they have an oversized rhinestone buckle that makes any outfit feel festive.”
