OUR EDITOR BREAKS DOWN FALL’S TOP TRENDS
Don’t worry. Summer’s not over yet. But even if you’re still on vacation in breezy linens and poolside slides, it’s a good idea to start thinking about your fall wardrobe strategy. In our latest lookbook, we’ve rounded up the pieces you’ll want to turn to when crisp weather and shorter days set in. Our Fashion Editor & Writer Toni Lessler Mills is here to break down what’s behind this season’s trends and how best to wear them.
Roses Are Red
“For some reason roses always fall into that underrated-overrated flower category so it’s nice to see them get a little limelight this season thanks to Gucci and Adam Selman. Try pairing an embroidered piece with a classic style such as a wide-leg pant to offset the cuteness.”
“By far my favorite trend this season as it’s a complete outfit that’s easy to replicate and still works with my somewhat-minimal style. Burgundy and pale blue are two of my favorite colors for fall.”
“The heritage print has always been a staple in my closet thanks to its versatility — it feels casual and serious at the same time. Try a head-to-toe look if you’re feeling bold or invest in a checked blazer which works as well with jeans as it does tailored trousers.”
“Prada, Marques’Almeida and Dion Lee all had some serious colored fur in their AW17 collections. Sure it’s a little harder to pull off in everyday life without risking looking like a Muppet, but I love the similar faux styles from Shrimps.”
