HOLIDAY IT GIFTS BY GUCCI, PRADA & MORE TO ADD TO YOUR LIST NOW
If you’re not in a holiday mood yet, get ready. Our latest lookbook is filled with party-worthy looks, and gifts anyone would be ecstatic to unwrap — think Gucci runway pieces, statement heels and the latest It bags. To get a behind the scenes look, we asked Editorial Director Lauren Bradshaw about the inspiration behind the shoot and its super cool location, plus what’s on her own holiday wish list. Read on and get in the mood for gifting (and getting).
The location for this shoot looks like a rich, opulent hideaway. Can you tell us about it? Our overall inspiration was the idea of an Italian palazzo with gold frames, brocade wallpaper and velvet furniture. When scouting I looked for local place in SF and came across this amazing speakeasy style bar called Whitechapel in SF that had a lot of the elements we were looking for. Their red velvet booth was perfect and you have to try the Narc Angel cocktail, one of their specialty gin drinks.
What’s on your holiday wish list? You’ll probably notice there’s a lot of Gucci in this lookbook and it’s not a coincidence. Everyone in the office is obsessed with anything and everything Gucci. I’m hoping for a pair of Gucci shoes or a Gucci bag.
What was your favorite look? I loved the silver pants with the purple Gucci shoes which is a great office holiday party look and something I would actually wear. Another look I loved was the rainbow Gucci dress with the No. 21 sandals, but I’m not sure I could pull it off.
Do you have favorite holiday tracks or gift wrapping song suggestions? All I Want For Christmas Is You by Mariah Carey. I mean, it’s just. It’s perfect.
What are the best holiday gifts you’ve given and received? The first one that popped into my head was a gift that I gave my friend who is obsessed with Ricky Gervais— a sleep shirt with Gervais’ face on it that said “I’m sleeping with Ricky Gervais.” On a more practical note, the first year my husband and I were together, I got him a really nice Italian blazer that I was really proud of at the time because it was a big purchase. Getting a puppy as a kid was my best present — there’s no better feeling; nothing can really top that. I asked for it three years in a row, and on the third year Santa finally got it for me.
