How Two Guys Pull off the Street Style Kimono

Words by Jody Hume | 10.1.16
Seen on the likes of Pharrell and street style king Nick Wooster, the Visvim Sanjuro Kimono sparked our inspiration for this post. The cult label founded by Hiroki Nakamura is known for its East-meets-West pieces, which combine traditional Japanese designs with western Americana and Native American elements. Luckily for us, our own Lead UI Designer Eric Johnson is not only a sneaker enthusiast, but also a collector of other coveted menswear pieces. When we learned he had this piece in his possession, along with another kimono sweater/jacket hybrid by Daniel Patrick, we asked him and another coworker, SEO Lead John Conlon, to style them and give them a spin on the streets of SF. Above, the results and their thoughts on adapting this rising street style piece for everyday wear.
