WHITE HOT SUMMER: THE SEASON’S IT COLOR

SHOP THE LOOKBOOK
From Johnny Cash to Rei Kawakubo, dressing in all black has always conveyed a certain badass quality, but this season, we’re setting out to prove that the opposite end of the spectrum can be just as bold. For our latest lookbook, White Hot Summer, Stylist Molly Thompson and Photographer Sydney Rose Davies reimagine the proverbial cool girl, trading her dark and moody uniform for a lighter, yet equally edgy, summer look. “Dressing in all white during summer is the best way to keep things fresh, comfortable and airy, and it also looks super chic,” says Thompson. The key to retaining your edge in angelic white? Select peekaboo fabrics like lace or mesh, and punctuate the outfit with black tough-luxe footwear for a graphic look. Whether you fully commit to all-white-everything, or prefer to incorporate just a few pieces, Thompson suggests one staple that’s an absolute must-have for summer: “Invest in a versatile wide-leg white pant in a luxe fabric,” the stylist says. “Pair it with casual pieces like a T-shirt and flat sandals and wear them slouchy, or team with a silky camisole and heels for a dressier look.”
